How to Play Shadow Clone

  1. Complete each level using your character and their shadow clones working together.
  2. Your first run through a level is recorded and played back as a transparent clone in all subsequent runs.
  3. Coordinate multiple clones to press buttons simultaneously — many puzzles require two or more inputs at the same moment.
  4. Trigger mechanisms in precise sequences to open gates, raise platforms, and unlock paths forward.
  5. Complete the level with all required buttons pressed — if the timing is off, restart the current recording and try again.

About Shadow Clone

Shadow Clone is a puzzle platformer built around cooperative time manipulation. Your movement history is recorded and played back as a transparent clone — and you must choreograph yourself with previous versions to solve puzzles requiring simultaneous inputs. Press two buttons at once, hold a platform steady while another self traverses it, or create a chain of clones that triggers a timed sequence.

The mechanic creates a unique sensation of collaborating with yourself across time. Puzzle difficulty scales from straightforward two-clone coordination to intricate 5-clone sequences requiring precise timing. Free in your browser, no download required.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many clones can appear at once?
Up to 5 simultaneous clones appear in the later levels, each replaying a separate recording you made in a previous run of that level.
What happens if I mess up my timing?
You can restart the current recording at any time — clones from all previous successful recordings remain active, so only the run in progress is lost.
Does the clone repeat my exact inputs?
Yes — clones perform a frame-perfect replay of every input from that recording, including movement speed, jump height, and timing, making the coordination fully predictable once you know your own recording.
Can I see the clone's path before committing?
A ghost preview of your previous recording is shown as a faint trail during planning, so you can visualise where each clone will be before you commit to a new recording.
