Built for a wedding with more than one day in it
Most wedding tools assume one ceremony, one guest list, one seating chart. An Indian wedding is not shaped like that. There is a mehendi, a sangeet, a haldi, the wedding itself, a reception — different guests at each, different timings, different venues, often different cities. Friendly Wedding treats every function as its own event over a single shared guest list, so a person exists once and their attendance is decided per function.
One guest list, many functions
Add a guest once. Then decide, function by function, who is invited to what. Guest groups let you handle the units people actually arrive in — the bride's college friends, an uncle's family of six, the office contingent — so you are inviting groups rather than re-selecting names for the fifth event. Join links let guests add themselves and their own details, which is usually faster and more accurate than one person typing four hundred phone numbers.
Seating, checklist and budget
Seating works against the same guest list, so a table plan reflects who actually confirmed for that function rather than a stale copy. The checklist holds what has to be done and by when. The budget tracks what was planned against what has been committed. None of it is a spreadsheet you have to keep in sync by hand, because all three read the same underlying events and guests — change a function's date and the things hanging off it move with it.
Co-hosts and a live photo wall
A wedding is never run by one person. Co-hosts get real access, so a sibling or a cousin can manage guests and update the checklist instead of sending you messages to action. During the day the photo wall gives everyone else something to do that is useful: guests post what they shot, and the photos land in one shared place rather than in nine WhatsApp groups you have to reconcile afterwards. Invite links open the app directly on a phone browser.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I invite different people to different functions?
- Yes — that is the core of it. Each function is its own event with its own invite list, drawn from one shared guest list. A guest exists once and you decide per function whether they are invited, so nobody is duplicated across five separate lists.
- Do guests need to install anything?
- No. The app runs in the browser, so an invite link opens directly on a guest's phone. Android, iOS and desktop builds exist too, but a guest who only needs to RSVP or post a photo can do it from the link.
- Can someone else help me run it?
- Yes. You can add co-hosts who get real access rather than view-only. They can manage guests, update the checklist and handle their part of the coordination, which matters when the work is genuinely split across a family.
- What is the photo wall?
- A shared place for guests to post photos during the functions, visible to everyone on the event. It exists so the day's photos collect in one location instead of scattering across group chats, and so you are not chasing people for them a week later.
- Is Friendly Wedding actually live?
- Yes. It runs in production at friendly.wedding and at jashva.com — one application serving both brands. It is not a preview or a waitlist.
Built on the same platform
Friendly Wedding shares its foundations — one SDK, one API, one account — with the rest of what we build.
